My name is Brutus Garrok. Also known as Shiv. One half of the Half Orc adventuing duo Clobba and Shiv. My buddy Clobba stands in front of people and whacks them in the face then I stab them in
the back. My buddy Clobba see had to take care of some personal stuff and said he’d catch up with me later. I understand personal stuff. My pa is The Mad Orc, Vek Koth Garrok the Clan Chief of the Undermountain Ork clan.
I am the youngest of his 15 sons born to him by his concubines. I was the only one born to his favorite concubine Greta. When I came of age my father issued an order that for the good of the clan he could only have one son in which to pass down the leadership of the clan. It was then open season on my brothers and I.
Over the next few days there was much blood shed as my brothers died one by one. The clan split into factions supporting different brothers depending on who their mother was in the clan. My mother was a Half Orc and had no faction to support her so I was on my own. Some of my brothers supprted other ones in hope that they would be spared if they backed the right brother but they were foolish and the first to die.
The oldest of us, also called Vek gathered the largest faction and killed most of my brothers while I stayed out of sight. Instead of worrying about Vek I protected him from the shadows. Stopping assassins, removing traps, and anything else that was needed to keep Vek on his course. When at last Vek and I were the only ones left I met Vek face to face in my fathers throne room. I pointed out that he was the strongest of us and he was the only one who could ever have challanged our father for the throne and had a chance. He was the only one with faction support and the only one who was ready to lead the clan right now.
That was Vek’s death sentence and he as immeaditly beheaded by my father’s axe. I told my father that I was no where near ready to take the throne and I had a lot to learn before I could stand before him and make a challange. He told me he was proud of me forrealizing the only way to survive. And that somehow he know I would be the one left standing. He said that in the future he would be ready to step down and he needed me ready to take the thronewhen that happened so I should go out in the world to improve my talents and make a name for myself.
I left my clan and headed for Greyhawk to join up with the adventurer’s guild. I joined upwith a party that called themselves Phoenix Legion and they promply got themselves all killed due to the Palladin leader being a pompus arrogant moron. Clobba and I were the only survivors of that party. We then went out and joined the thieves guild. It pays better and was better work. Especially for a duo. We were doing great until Clobba got a letter and had to leave. So I stayedaround Greyhawk and was asked to do some bouncer work at the “Dragon’s Lair” the thieves guild owned Inn that provides a front for their work. So I’m biding my time until the next job comes up. Throwing out drunks, warning of town guard raids, and keeping out the new adventurer’s trying to get the “word on the street”,
